What’s in my makeup bag?
The classic, age-old question. LOL JK! I’m aging myself there a lot! I know that this is a popular blog post topic and wanted to join in on the fun. At 32 I finally feel like I have a routine and I’m ready to share it all. I have written a few other posts that might be of interest to you too surrounding my beauty regime.
If I could recommend just one it would definitely be the ice-rolling one. If you’re not ice-rolling already then you need to start. The benefits are huge and it’s such an easy thing to do, why not? Okay, let’s dive into my makeup bag.
UNZIPPING the Make-Up Bag
Okay, it’s taken me years to find a primer that actually works. I always felt like I put the primer on but it didn’t do anything. My makeup still was gone a few hours later. This primer that I’m using is amazing. It’s Elf Poreless Putty Primer. It’s a thick, pomade-type texture and it’s basically magic gold.
After letting the primer set for about 30 seconds I use Maybelline Foundation.
I recently started using a foundation brush rather than a sponge and I really like it. I find it gives my skin a bit more of a dewy look. I might be changing up my foundation soon for something with a higher SPF. If you have any recommendations please let me know.
This Rimmel pallet is my favorite contour pallet ever. It’s a bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it.
I am a big fan of lashes. I love dramatic, but I also love subtle. It really depends on my mood to be honest. Sometimes I want the thickness, sometimes not. I really love using colored mascara because my lashes are so dark, it just gives a tiny hint of color. The color I’m loving most right now is definitely green.
I found this product about a year and a half ago and I’m OBSESSED still.
This loose powder makes your skin look AMAZING. I used to not be one for powders because I found they looked weird on my skin, but this one is amazing. And, it lasts a long time.
Okay is that all that’s in your make-up bag?
Haha no. I’m not that organized. Come on, I can’t be the only one who has 980 eye shadow pallets that you never use? I need to plan an intense make-up clean up that’s for sure. I do have a few particular eye shadows that I use on occasion though.
The powder is a must. Especially during summer when it’s hot and gross outside! LOL
CLEAN YOUR MAKE-UP BRUSHES. (I capitalize to stress the significance of this. It’s amazing how much make-up brushes carry on them, and really, we’re just rubbing that all over our faces every time we use the brush, right? So it’s probably a good idea to clean them once a week. That’s what I aim for. It’s probably closer to once per month but who’s counting?)
Use a touch of highlighter on the inside of the eye crease and blend. It will instantly brighten your eyes and make you look more awake.
My Regular Make-Up Routine
Look at me becoming a real beauty blogger here! Just kidding. So, my make-up routine isn’t anything special. But, it’s easy, simple, AFFORDABLE, and maintainable which are all important to me. (Major emphasis on the affordability with the cost of life lately!) These simple products give my skin a glow while looking hydrated and moisturized. The NYX spray is a game-changer. Your make-up really will stay on the entire day and evening. I love it. I purchased a bottle at the beginning of May last year and I’m finally running low. It’s a great product that is worth the small cost for sure.
How do you take it off?
SLOW DOWN there friend. One step at a time. LOL Just kidding! (However – if you’re interested in some exciting dating blog posts visit over here – Sex, Love & Everything Else)
I always use the same make-up remover. Once I found it and fell in love with it, I never wanted to try any other one. This make-up remover literally removes the make-up feeling like water. It doesn’t sting your eyes at all.
Trust me. It’s the best make-up remover I’ve ever tried. My skin feels amazing after using it!
Well, that’s it! Simple, easy, and effortless are my favorite ways to approach make-up. Every now and then I explore color but I seem to always come back to something very plain. Maybe I’m just a plain kind of gal!
