Sleep Deprivation – What It Is, And What To Do

I’m so excited to share with you today an INCREDIBLE brand! SleeBD is a brand that creates amazing products to help with one of the most essential parts of our lives, sleep. Some information below is from the brand’s website, and other research, but, the opinion of the product and recommendation is 100% my own.

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind and body.

It is identified by a few things. Altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, reduced muscle activity and inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles during rapid eye movement sleep, and reduced interactions with surroundings. Sleep is distinguished from wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli, but more reactive than a coma or disorders of consciousness, with sleep displaying very different and active brain patterns. * Sleep is so important in carrying out the daily tasks of life. Adults, on average need 7-9 hours of good sleep, but of course, this changes from person to person.

When a person struggles with staying asleep, or falling asleep for an extended, or any, amount of time, they run the risk of sleep deprivation. It can be caused by many things such as, stress, brain functions, health conditions, etc. But, it’s definitely something to work towards improving.

Sleep deprivation affects a lot of people. Anywhere from 50-70 million U.S adults have a sleep disorder.

Sleep deprivation is a huge problem. It can cause mental distress, poor cognitive function, reduced immune function and chronic disease. Struggling with sleep can make the days feel very long, and I know personally, my mental health plummets very quickly. It can be difficult to manage your emotions, and you may get frustrated/aggravated quickly. Sleep deprivation is definitely not something to not be taken lightly.

SleeBD has created a line of products to help with anxiety and sleep deprivation using CBD. CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis.

“What CBD does is help balance our endocannabinoid system, the main job of which is to keep our body in homeostasis,” says Aimée Gould Shunney, a licensed naturopathic doctor at Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine.

It also prevents our major endocannabinoid, which is called anandamide, from being broken down—and when we have plenty of our own endocannabinoids circulating, not only are we not going to respond as much to a stress, but we’re going to return to baseline faster, so it’s like a recovery system.” (You can read more here.)

CBD promotes the growth of new neurons, which is thought to be helpful treatment with anxiety, and therefore insomnia. A lot of research points to the point that CBD helps with what the causes sometimes are of insomnia such as, anxiety, pain, and depression. By helping the underlying root, often sleep improves.

One product that I am really enjoying are the Calm Capsules. There are calm boosting qualities of CBD. The capsules are infused with the relieving ingredients ashwagandha, L-theanine and a special blend of gaba and lemon balm extract. These natural ingredients are sure to ease anxiety and stress, making it the perfect way to relax. I would definitely recommend (I am not a doctor, and you should consult your medical professional about everything.) this to anyone who lives with anxiety.

The Rest Disposable Pen is amazing for sleep. Inhale rest with our special blend of full spectrum CBD and essential oils.

A hint of mint combined with the relaxing qualities of ylang ylang and chamomile is the perfect union of ingredients for a good nights sleep. I highly recommend this for sleep. I will definitely be purchasing it in the future. I found it helped me fall asleep, and staying asleep.

SleeBD also has other products that can help you achieve that amazing sleep we all need! The Relieve Disposable Pen is the next product on my list!

For the last few months, I have been tracking my moods.

In conjunction with other variables of course. Like, environmental factors, any pain I was feeling, where I was in my cycle, and the amount and quality of sleep. Doing this helped me to see that my mental health is extremely dependant on sleep. On nights that I would wake, and begin my day at 1am, I was depressed. My body ached and felt heavy. I had zero motivation and felt hopeless. I’m sure I’m simply describing the effects of being very tired, but really it was so much more. I had more suicidal thoughts, and urges, along with more negative outlook on, well, everything. These days felt completely unbearable. Some of them, I lay lifeless on the couch, while the tv gave my children the attention they so desperately sought.

Sleep deprivation is real, and needs to be cared for.

Using CBD is one of the many things you can do to help with your sleep. Now that I’ve begun using it, I don’t think I will be stopping. I struggle with sleep. My brain constantly thinks. It’s annoying. So I’m very excited to be working with SleeBD, and will continue to explore CBD and it’s wonderful effects.

You can follow SleeBD on Insta! Their content is awesome, super informative and aesthetically pleasing!

Do you/have you used CBD for sleep? What are your thoughts on it?

Love Always, Enn

I always find interesting new items that can help me with my insomnia.. though ithink ive been falling asleep much better than I was few months back- my problem is when I want to go to bed early.

I know I usually can’t before atleast 10pm (or else i’m gonna wakeup at like midnight/1am and wont be able to go back to sleep) — other times for some reasons my dachshund, usually the male, decide to just be a pain and wake me up rather frequently 🙃 sometimes to go out, sometimes because he’s randomly on the ground and cry to get back into bed.. and as I work from noon/7pm it’s kinda harsh on me as my sleep frame aint that big xd
